In 1996, I had the opportunity to take part in a training course at the German Foundation for International Development (DSE). I suspect that I didn't understand too much back then, but the concept of participant orientation and the open, accepting attitude that is needed for all-party participation processes has shaped my career to this day. Today I would say that a seed was planted there and in the years since then I have had countless opportunities to grow with this seed. Thank you for this valuable initial impulse.
